Things that Shouldn’t Bother Me

This thing has affected me in so many ways. Today I’ve been expecting a UPS package delivery. I’m deafblind, so it’s not always easy for me to hear the knock on the door. The birds were being particularly noisy when the UPS driver attempted to deliver, and I missed my package. This should not bother me, certainly not as much as it has bothered me, but I feel as if my world has come to an end, all because of a stupid package. There’s a part of me that even wants to take it out on the birds for being so noisy, but that’s just stupid, they were just being their usual cute selves and they did absolutely nothing wrong. I’m the only one in the wrong, as usual. But it still shouldn’t bother me, but it does.

  1. If anything, this shows how truly hard you are on yourself and if you want to move forward, your going to have to be nicer to yourself; give yourself some credit once in a while. I don’t know one human that is perfect so how possible is it that you would be? You are a wonderful person and a wonderful friend. A missed package shouldn’t erase all the efforts your friends are doing (as all friends do for one another and not for some “payment”) in helping you accept yourself. We LOVE you, you galooot!! I say that in jest and in love!

  2. Oh Bruce. So sorry that you have the hassle of missing your package, but you know that you will still eventually get it. You are NOT in the wrong; no need to attribute blame to yourself unnecessarily! I would like to share with you one of the most encouraging Scriptures passages, which is suitable for every occasion, from Philippians 4:4-7 (ESV): “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” I hope these verses encourage you! (Prescription: Read ten times daily; maybe twenty!) Blessings and hugs to you today, Bruce!
